Basically Caffeinated Content is designed to grab content from Yahoo Answers, Youtube and article directories then automatically spin it and post it to your Wordpress blog for publishing at a scheduled future date. I’ve been playing around with it for a few weeks and it is a pretty damn powerful plugin but it is not for the faint of heart. You do need to put in some time to learn how to configure and use it for best effect. However the end results are well worth the effort.

Benefits: A ton of pseudo original content based on your keywords, including relevant pictures grabbed and added to every post. All scheduled for slow release, post can be set to start at any date through until years ahead if you wish. Dates and times are chosen randomly within your date range. You can format the output with your own custom templates and even get it to use random templates to appear even more natural. The results can be stunning and look really great.

Drawbacks: It relies on various online services to retrieve and modify content such as Yahoo Answers, Babelfish and Google’s translator. If you try to do too much from one ip address at once, these services will block access for an hour or so. The plugin is hard on your webserver and you really can’t pull in more than 20 articles at a time with shared hosting. About 1/3 of the results will be crap, and 1/3 will be awesome. You’ll need to check every post which can be time consuming but even so you’ll save a lot of time.

It may seem that the drawbacks list is longer than the benefits however it is a great complement to sourcing articles using the article retrieval system within Firepow or Google Conquest’s Blog colony. After collecting some content from with the WP admin area, you just go into Firepow or Blog Colony and click “update blog” . You will now see all your new content as pending posts. You can now edit the text and then work on modifying the content in much the same way you would with other posts using the Firepow or Blog Colony editing suite.

While the author of this plugin intended to be simply for automated scraping, modifying and scheduling posts. In reality it does still require you to get your hands dirty if you want to get use it effectively.

Different people will have differing opinions on the use of such tools. I don’t see much difference between reading someone else’s article and then writing one in my own words. Or having a machine do half the job and editing and tidying it the result. Except that I can work 3 times as fast with the assistance of a machine.

If you’re not an expert in your blog’s niche and can’t afford to pay someone to write original content. This can be an excellent alternative. Highly recommended for auto publishing.
